Roma Gry at the WE CAN BC Campaign – May 28, 2010

On May 28, 2010 the Roma Gry Show were invited to take part in a very special performance. The WE CAN BC Campaign, under the slogan “Uniting Diverse Communities to End Violence Against Women,” held a Fundraising Gala & Dinner at the Pearl Banquet and Conference Palace.

The evening featured fusion cuisine dinner and a variety of entertainment, with Roma Gry Show closing the night with a vibrant music and dance concert. Toward the end of Roma Gry’s performance, members of the audience were “danced” into joining the group onstage for some audience participation, rendering the culmination of the evening more light-hearted than might have been expected.

Meera Bains, the CBC Radio Anchor was MC for the event with keynote speakers including Jim Sinclair, President of the BC Federation of Labour. (We Can BC. http://www.wecanbc.ca/). The Campaign has many endorsements, including a note of support from Her Excellency, Michaëlle Jean, the Governor General of Canada.
